Glen Roy Folden
Glen Roy Folden, age 74 of Winnfield, passed away May 21, 2018 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home. Mr. Folden was a U. S. Army Veteran and also served in the Louisiana National Guard. He worked at Western Auto and Radio Shack in Winnfield for several years then later he also worked at Nichols, the City of Winnfield Street Department and the Road Department at the Winn Parish Police Jury. His passion was flying, although was not able to attain his pilots license due to some physical disabilities.
Mr. Folden was the son of the late Roy Folden and the late Edna Luetta Rolen Folden and was also preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Rodden and four sisters Vivian, Sally, Betty Joe, and Edna.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years Anna Sue Ross Folden, two daughters Angel Bryant (Daryl) of Dry Prong, and Tammie Folden of Navarre, Florida and Sharon Gilcrease Long and her family who was like a 3rd daughter, one grandson Casey Bryant, One great grandson Dainen Bryant, three step-grandchildren Tessa Smith, Tracy Corbett, and David Bryant, as well as eleven step great-grandchildren. Graveside services, with Reverend Lamar Carpenter and Mike Green officiating, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Brown Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
Friends may visit with the family in the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Wednesday, May 23 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and also on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 930 a.m. at the funeral home.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Clyde Barton, Jr., Perry Holmes, Lonnie Higgs, Paul Hodnett, Danny Ferguson, and Craig Warner. Honorary pallbearers will be George Ferguson, Ronnie Brazzell and Bobby Sharbono.
