Glenn Allen Rushing
Glenn Allen Rushing, 74, of Amite County, died Feb. 15, 2011, at his residence.
Visitation is 6 to 9 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster and continues at 10 a.m. Thursday until services at 11, with Bro. Stacy McCollum officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery.
Mr. Rushing was born Sep. 17, 1936, in Amite County, to Elisha C. Rushing Sr. and Cepha Anders Rushing.
He was a successful business owner and operator for 45 years of Rushings T.V. Sales and Services in Gloster, and he was proud of his success as a private cattle farmer. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
He enjoyed his grandchildren, family and friends, along with farming and overseeing his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Elisha C. Rushing Jr.; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Hathaway Rushing; three sons, Richard A. Rushing and wife Sandy B, Christopher G. Rushing and wife Victoria S., and Tommy L. Rushing and wife Sandy W., all of Gloster; a brother, William Rushing of Gloster; a sister, Doris Poole and husband Stennis of Centreville; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Justin Rushing, and Amber, Emily and Jake Rushing; and step-grandchild, Christina McKey.
