Gloria Parker Harrison
January 11, 1922 - November 5, 2011

Gloria P. Harrison, age 89 of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Covenant Hospice. She was a faithful member of Olive Baptist Church even when she could no longer attend in person. Gloria retired from Escambia County in 1997 after 20 years of service and was a Mary Kay Associate for many years. Her hobbies included music, traveling on many “sister” and family vacations, watching Wheel-of-Fortune, and beating others in Yahtzee, Farkle or Rummy.

Gloria, meaning “glory” was a loved by many. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, love of adventure, never ending sense of humor, quite strength, independence and perseverance.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Levi S. Harrison Jr.; daughter, Cathy Harrison Jones and grandson, Shawn Parker Harrison; parents, Clarence G. and Florence Sudduth Parker; brothers, Thomas Jackson “Jack” and Clarence B. “CB” Parker; and sister, Mary Parker Baker.

She is survived by daughters, Cheryl L. Harrison and Linda Harrison Bray, sons-in-law, Jeffery A. Jones and James S. Bray; grandsons, Timothy and Branden Harrison; and sisters, Betty Parker Matthews and Rebecca Parker Jones.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Reverend Jerry Passmore officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Pkwy, is in charge of arrangements.
