Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Kay Wade Blazier, 82, of West Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 18, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with her grandson, Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.
Mrs. Blazier was born May 27, 1927 in Dodson, LA and passed away on September 15, 2009 in West Monroe, LA. She stayed at home during the time her children were growing up, then worked at K-Mart for a number of years back when it was located on Louisville Avenue. She loved birds, flowers, reading and baseball, especially watching the Chicago Cubs. She had a very gentle spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manning Edward Blazier, Sr. and her son, Manning Edward, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Gerald Blazier and wife JoAnn of Bastrop, Nancy Smith and husband Mike of Monroe, and Donna O'Neal and husband Pat of West Monroe; fourteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra Parker of West Monroe.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of Black Bayou.
