Gloria Mae Arender

TALLULAH -- Gloria Mae Arender died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was 79.

Mrs. Arender was born in Tallulah and lived most of here life there. She worked at The Madison Journal and was a retired receptionist with the U.S. Veteran's Affairs Office in Tallulah. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, B. H. and Mae Prewitt, a son, Larry Wilkins and a grand daughter, Jill Whitaker.

She is survived by a son, Stan Wilkins of Plain Dealing, La., two daughters, Cynthia A Machen of Tallulah and Tammi Herring of West Monroe, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jason Whitaker, Cameron Machen, Toby Wilkins, Cory Wilkins, Maurice Machen and John Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Fortenberry and Craig Herring.
