Glyn Keith Mixon
August 7, 1938 - November 17, 2011

Reverend. Glyn Keith Mixon, age 73 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011.

Born Sunday, August 7, 1938 in Winnfield, Louisiana, he was preceded in death by his father, David Mixon and mother, Bessie McMurry Mixon.

Reverend Mixon pastored many churches throughout North and Central Louisiana. He was an officer of the law having worked for the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office and the Winnfield Police Department. He retired from Wal-Mart, where he was a loss prevention manager. He was a dedicated family man, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Helen Sue Wilson Mixon. sons, Terry Lynn Mixon and wife Pam of Wheeling, LA and Michael Keith Mixon and wife Kimberly of Deville, LA, daughters, Stephanie Suzanne Tucker and husband Carlton of Sikes, LA and Melanie Michelle Mixon of Winnfield, LA, sister, Ara Beth Mixon of Winnfield, LA; 11 grand children; 3 great grand children Extended family members include Carolyn Morgan Harvey, Margaret Morgan Brown, Cleo Phelps, Audie, Sonja, and Doug Brooks, Leah Lashley, and a host of family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield, on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and at Laurel Heights Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:00 PM to time of Services.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield, Louisiana, with Rev. Bruce Weatherford officiating,

Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery, Winnfield, LA.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Cody Zimmerman, Glyn M. Mixon, Matt Tucker, Scott Zimmerman, Michael Durbin, Todd Hughes, Peyton Mixon, and Jacob Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Pineville Fire Department, Carlton Tucker, and Doug Brooks, Greg Davies, Max Adams, Huey Caskey, Rev. Ken Norris, Wesley Cox, Wesley Jordan, David Westbrook, and Rodgers Berry.
