Glyn LaRue Wilkerson
April 25, 1919 - July 3, 2011

Glyn LaRue Wilkerson 92, of Highlands, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2011.

Glen was born on April 25, 1919 in Sikes, Louisiana to James and Alaphair (Taylor) Wilkerson. Glyn served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Glyn then moved to the Highlands area where he was a member of First Baptist Church in Highlands, Sampson Masonic Lodge 231 and worked for Exxon as a planner. When Glyn wasn't busy working he enjoyed reading, gardening, hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Clotile Thomas Wilkerson; granddaughter, Lisa Guy; sister, Myrt Garr; sister, Virginia Fegar and brother, Harlan Wilkerson.

Glyn is survived by his wife, Helen Wilkerson; daughter, Linda Riley and husband Jim; son, Dennis Wilkerson and wife Jeannette; grandson, Todd Myers and wife Sherri; great grandchildren, Allie, Katy, Zoe, Justin, Caleb; brother, Phillip Wilkerson and wife Corrine and many other relatives and friends.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Remington park, the staff at Dr. Chows office and to the staff at Faith Community Hospice.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 5-8pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, july 8, 2011 10am at First Baptist Church in Highlands and burial following at Sterling-White Cemetery.

Services have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home and Cemetery 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas 77562.
