Glynn A. Parker, Sr.
A supervisor for PCE Constructors, he died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at his home in Port Allen surrounded by family. He was 73, a native of Pachuta, Miss., and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Sunday, Jan. 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Monday, Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Grace Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Salvadras Parker; three daughters, Nora Morales and husband Michael, Alice Grider and husband Dale, and Valerie Thibodeaux and husband Morris “Moe” Jr.; two sons, Glynn A Parker Jr., and Ralph Parker and wife Alice; a sister, Eunice Parker Turner; 11 grandchildren, Christy, Shane, Eric, Angel, Joshua, Davidson, Dustin, Deric, Rachael, Andrew and Dallas; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexis, Madison, La Trell, Makenzie, Haley, Skylar and Evan; and his dog, Boots.
Preceded in death by his parents, James Tally Parker and Nora Coffey Parker; four brothers, Marion, Jerry, Ray and Louis Parker; grandson, Keith Morales; and godchild, Cheryl Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Shane Daigle, Eric Daigle, Joshua Morales, Davidson Parker, Andrew Tullier, Marion Parker Jr. and Charles Parker. Honorary pallbearer is Thomas Boudreaux Jr.
He was a graduate of Pachuta High School and was a member of the American Legion Post 167 for 31 years.
