Gordon A. Lincecum

Gordon A. Lincecum, 98, of Pollock, passed from this life on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at his residence.

He was born June 17, 1912 in Pollock, to the union of his parents, Gideon and Emma Lee Brister Lincecum.

Mr. Lincecum worked for the Louisiana Department of Highways as an engineer for 34 years, and was a member of Lincecum Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a technician, fifth grade, with the 3020th Engineers Topographic Company.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at Lincecum Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Winegart officiating.

Interment followed in the Lincecum Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margie Kahn, Ineta Protho and Verlon Eleazar; and brothers, Lloyd Lincecum, Clifton Lincecum and John Lincecum.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Lincecum of Pollock; daughter, Sandra Wilson and husband Charles of Pollock; two grandsons, Charles C. Wilson, II, of Memphis, TN and John Allen Wilson of Iatt Lake; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Charles C. Wilson, II, and John Allen Wilson.
