Gordon Mims Lackey

Gordon Mims Lackey, age 70, lifelong resident of Greenwood, died on Wednesday March 21, 2007 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today at Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Polk will officiate the services.

He was born on September 12, 1936 to Lyman A. and Rena (Mims) Lackey. He graduated from Greenwood High School and attended Mississippi State University.

He is survived by Wife, Mary Mulvihill Lackey of Greenwood, MS. Step Son, John Robert Capelle, III of Greenwood, MS. Son, Gordon M. “Beau” Lackey, Jr. and wife Jennifer Weir of Hattiesburg, MS. Step Daughter, Teresa Gail Capelle and husband Wallace A Lay of Trenton, GA. Brother, Lyman A Lackey, Jr. of Lawton, OK. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild and numerous cousins.
