Funeral services for Grace Evelyn Hootsell, 78, a housewife of Vidalia, LA. will be 1pm Monday January 13, 2014 at Ferriday Church of God in Ferriday, LA. with Rev. B. J. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in New Pine Hill Cemetery in Sicily Island, LA. under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA .

Grace was born August 31, 1935 to the union of Thomas J. and Rosebud Broome Sumrall and passed from this life January 10, 2014 in St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. surrounded by her loving family.

Grace was a loving soul who always put God first in her life and showed kindness to all. She never met a stranger and taught her children these things which they will always have to cherish her memories and the love of family. She will surely be missed by all that knew her.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents and one child Charles Randy Hootsell.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty plus years Herman Hootsell; children Kathy Marler and husband Lewis of Woodworth, LA.; Leisa Morace and husband Robert of Branson, MO.; Tommy Hootsell of Natchez, MS.; Jeffery Hootsell of Vidalia, LA. and Kim Petermann and husband Johnny of Jackson,MS.; grand-children Eric Marler, Dana Bennett, Somer Jones, Bethany Mecke; Cameron Petermann and J.P. Petermann III and one great-grandchild Tristan Dean Mecke and one sister June Robertson and husband Larry of Van Cleave, MS.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Marler, Robert Morace, Johnny Petermann, Eric Marler, Nehemiah Jones, Brett Bennett and Mitchell Mecke.

Friends may call for visitation after 9am till time of service at 1pm at Monday January 13, 2014 at Ferriday Church of God in Ferriday, LA.
