Grady O'Neal Jones, Sr.

Grady O'Neal Jones, Sr., died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at his home in Summersville, Missouri, at the age of 52.

Jones was born in Jena on Sept. 15, 1954, and moved to Summersville in 1997.

When he first arrived in Summersville, he was an employee of Vaughn Redi-Mix. In Jena, he worked for Louisiana Industries as a driver for some 15 years.

Grady was a devoted member of the Alfa Tango Radio Group.

Memorial visitation was held at Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville on Saturday, March 24, before his body was transferred to Jena.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at Hair Cemetery of Jena with Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating.

Local arrangements were under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudine Brown Jones; and his father, Monroe Austin Jones.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Young of Summersville, Mo.; three sons, Grady Jones, Jr., Joseph Jones, and John Jones, all of Jena; two brothers, Don Jones and Ricky Jones, both of Jena; eight grandchildren and many other family members and a multitude of friends.
