Died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 1982, in Baton Rouge. He was 77, a native of Louisiana and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Exxon employee.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., after 8 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Jim Bain. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survived by a son, Charles Butler, Baker; a brother, Joseph Butler, New Roads; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Butler; a son, Grover Wayne Butler; two brothers; and a sister.

He was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church.
