Gus Flurry
TALLULAH (Special) -- Gus Flurry, 48, well known Madison resident died instantly of a heart seizure after walking from a clinic where he was treated for an infected hand at noon yesterday.
A physician here who had just treated the man said as far as he knew, the attack was unprecedented. Mrs. Flurry had accompanied her husband to the clinic.
Mr. Flurry was presently head of the citizen's council in ward five near Sondheimer, a member of the First Baptist Church here, a parish school bus driver, and an active farmer. He had been a resident of Madison parish for about 32 years, after coming from Union parish.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucian Conway officiating. Interment will follow in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers Funeral Home.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Brown, Tallulah and Mrs. D'Elmer Williamson, Ft. Riley, Kan.; five brothers, Clifton Flurry, Des Allemand, Percy Flurry, Lancaster, Pa., Henry Flurry, Bernice, Roy Flurry, Goldonna, and Thomas Flurry, Sondheimer; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be L. W. Byrd, Jim Gilfoil, H. N. Pippin, Percy Hammond, Everett Edwards, and Ernest Stewart.

Gus Flurry Dies Suddenly Last Friday
Gus Flurry, age 48, died suddenly about noon last Friday of a heart attack. He was a farmer and had been
employed by the Madison Parish School Board as a bus driver for the past three and a half years. He had
been a resident of Madison Parish since 1932, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was head
of the Citizens' Council in Ward 5.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church with the Rev.
Lucian Conway officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers
Funeral Home.
Mr. Flurry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lola Flurry; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Brown of Tallulah, and
Mrs. D'Elmer Williamson of Fort Riley, Kansas; one grandchild, Debra Brown, Tallulah; five brothers,
Clifton Flurry, Des Alamonds, La., Percy Flurry, Lancaster, Penn., Henry Flurry, Bernice, La., Roy Flurry,
Goldonna, La., and Thomas Flurry, Sondheimer, La.
