Funeral services for Mr. Gus H. Watson, Sr., 84, of Sicily Island, LA, will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ken Hoots and Rev. Larry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Ferriday.

Mr. Watson died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at his residence in Sicily Island.

He was a former owner of Watson Green House and Watson Grocery Store and also the former president of Blackhawk Hunting Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sicily Island. Mr. Watson served in WWII and the European Theater.

He was preceded in deathy by his wife, Irma Watson, father, Jacob Wolf Watson, mother, Nora E. Watson, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his son: Gus H. Watson Jr. of Maitland, LA; daughter: Anne Wycoff of Sicily Island, LA; sister: Dorris Knight of Zachary, LA; host of nieces and nephews; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Reginald Wycoff, Randy Wycoff, Peter Guarisco, Dan Watson, Kenneth Watson, Walter Myers, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Martin D. Wooden, Reginald Wycoff, Sr., Austin Wilson, Mrs. Mildred Young, Eugene Marshall, H. H. Gillespie, Hewey Nelson, Duane Keenan, H. C. Peck, Jr., J. C. Gilbert.

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home Ferriday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, November 29, 2004.

Family ask that memorials he [sic be] made to First Baptist Church, Sicily Island or The Baptist Church Home.
