Services for Gutha Shannon Willis, 87, of Ferriday were held 2 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2007, at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.
Burial followed at Nolley Memorial Cemetery in Jena under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Willis was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Vick, La., the daughter of Stephen Thomas Shannon and Nettie Bardwell Shannon. She passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007, at her residence.
She was a resident of Lake Concordia, a retired bank teller with Concordia Bank & Trust and a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alton L. ``Jiggs'' Willis; six brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include daughter Judy and husband, Paul Goldfield, of Rome, Italy; daughter Karen Willis of Ferriday; granddaughter Erica Livi of Ferriday; and brother Barron Shannon of Vick.
Pallbearers were Ed Lytle, Mike Shannon, Bill Campbell, Randy Miller, Andy Anders and Jay Lasyone.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Daye, Dr. Herman Gibson Jr., Dr. Tom Purvis and Dane Paul.
