Guy H. ``Spud'' Allbritton

DALLAS, Texas - Born June 21, 1919, in LaSalle Parish, Tullos, La., one of twelve children born to Elam E. and Mary Jane Allbritton, died Sept. 11, 2007, in Dallas.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Polly Allbritton in 2003, and nine of his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly A. Katzman and Dr. Steven M. Katzman; son Phillip A. Allbritton; granddaughter, Brianne Allbritton; sister, Carolyn Garrison, of Texas City, Texas; brother, Melvin Allbritton, of Jennings, La.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Spud was a member of Royal Lane Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific and was a 32nd degree Mason. Spud began his career with Hunt Oil Company in February 1939 until his retirement in March 1985. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, and will continue from 11 a.m. until noon Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at noon Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Vickrey officiating.

Entombment will be at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
