Guy Chester Meredith

COLFAX -- Services for Guy Chester Meredith will be at 2 p.m. today in Summerfield Baptist Church with the Rev. W.B. Paige officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Aloha, under direction of Hixson Bros., Alexandria.

Meredith, 91, of Colfax died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday in his residence.

He was a member and deacon at Summerfield Baptist Church and past master of Colfax Masonic Lodge No. 259 F&AM. He was a retired laundry superintendent at the Baptist Hospital and a native of Winn Parish.

Survivors include two daughters, Loraine Sellers of Colfax and Judy Summerell of Ferriday; two brothers, C.A. Meredith of Clarks and Sam B. Meredith of Houston, Texas; one sister, Ruby Mae Johnston of Sikes; six grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call until time of services today in the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
