Hannelore Crigler
Hannelore “Lori” Crigler, 81, died peacefully at her home in Houston, surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, February 19, 2016.
Born in Bremerhaven, Germany on January 8, 1935 to Maria and Benno Betz. Lori attended school and began her early career in Germany. She met the love of her life, John Crigler, a soldier in the United States Army, while he was stationed in Germany. The married couple returned to the United States where Lori would make Baton Rouge, Louisiana her first US home. Over the years both careers and life journeys would allow Lori to call many places including Chicago, California, and Texas home. While living in Houston, Hannelore was an entrepreneur and owner of two successful beauty salons. Raffiniert, her second salon located in West Houston, was a special place where she loved to cater to and socialize with many patrons and employees who became her lifelong friends. Lori loved the sun, fresh water fishing, and traveling.
She made her way back to Germany many times over the years as well as completed road trips across the United States that included stops to the wine country and her favorite casinos. Lori had a flair for hosting festive events and enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her large family and friends. Lori will be remembered for her beauty, her work ethic, and her unwavering devotion to her husband and family.
Lori is survived by sons Joe Crigler and wife Stacy, Mike Crigler and wife Edith, and Tom Crigler; grandchildren Shannon Taylor and Husband Mike, Jamie Salgado and husband Oliver, Casey Poché and husband Jeffrey, Mikey Crigler and wife Taryn, Katy Albano and Husband Nick, Thomas Crigler and wife Michelle, Timothy Crigler, Kimberly Crigler, Nathan Crigler and wife Annie, Stephanie Patrick and husband Dallas, Amber Taylor and husband Karl, Shalee Crigler, Donald Grothe, and 17 great grandchildren; plus so many close friends.
Special thanks to Maria Urenda for her love and care of Lori throughout the past year.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday March 12, 2016 in the chapel at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
