Hardy Franklin
Funeral services for Hardy C. Franklin, 80, were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, from the Cooperville Baptist Church. The officiating minister was Rev. Gary Stehlow. Interment followed in the Cooperville Cemetery.
Franklin died Monday at the St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. A retired farmer and school bus driver, he was a lifetime resident of Star Route 1, Morton, and a member of the Cooperville Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include, his wife, Mrs. Anna Franklin, Star Route, Morton; three daughters, Mrs. Charlie (Libbye) Reynolds, Vernon, Fla., Mrs. Billy G. (Mary Nell) Barnett, Pearl, and Mrs. Tom (Eloise) Thornton, Brandon; three sisters, Mrs. Ezra Gray, Clinton, and Mrs. Minnie Morris, and Mrs. T. W. Walker, both of Braxton; 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Delwyn Thornton, Dion Thornton, Rickey Miller, Darnell Stuart, Maxwell Gainey, and William Hugh Robinson.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home, Morton, was in charge of arrangements.
