Hardy W. Folds Jr.

Hardy W. Folds Jr., 72, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 in Gulfport. Mr. Hardy was born in Baskin, LA and had been a resident of Gulfport since 1958. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Mr. Folds was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie M. Folds, his parents, Hardy Washington Folds, Sr. & Metta Fox Folds, and a brother, Jay Paul Folds.

Survivors include his daughter, Ruthie Diane Melvin of Gulfport, 2 sons, Hardy Wayne Folds of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Roy Lynn Folds of Gulfport, 2 sisters, Metta Gayle Blakney [sic Blakeney] of Pioneer, LA, Gloria Swindle of Toplin [sic Joplin], MO, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at Orange Grove Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2004 at Orange Grove Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. Burial will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
