Harmon Frank Rachel
August 4, 1932 - December 5, 2011

Harmon Franklin Rachel of Lewisville, Texas, Frank to his family and friends, passed from this life on December 5, 2011, after a courageous fight against cancer. He was 79 years old. Frank was born in Old Union, Bowie County, Texas on August 4, 1932. He was the son of Harmon Henry Rachel and Kate Bernice Power, and the grandson of Omer Oliver Rachel and Elma Naomi (Oma) Fowler Rachel, and John Franklin Poer and Bena Laney Rachel, all of Bowie County. Frank married Mildred Louise Talley on August 12, 1972 in Texarkana, Texas.

Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6th from 6-8pm at the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 2pm at the Mulkey Mason Funeral Home, with Dr. Ron Osborn, Senior Pastor of Lakeland Baptist church, and grandson Mark Stubbs officiating. A second funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 7th at the Bates Rolf Funeral Home in New Boston, Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service. Following the service, Frank will be interred in the Old Union Cemetery in New Boston.

Frank served as a United States Marine for sixteen years, achieving the rank of Sergeant, and most notably serving as a helicopter crewman in the United States Naval Mission to Haiti. He was an electrical foreman at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, a regional sales manager for Lustra Lighting Company and TIFCO Industries, owned his own business in Shreveport, Louisiana, and following his retirement worked in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart in Lewisville. He was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church, and enjoyed a long and devout relationship with the Lord. He had a zest for life and was an avid painter, fisherman, and wood worker in his spare time. He was past First Vice Commander of Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Frank's love of life was evidence in his keen sense of humor and his love of his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Louise; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Ann Rachel of Shreveport, Louisiana; five step children: Louis Stubbs, Jr., Kenneth Stubbs, Kevin Stubbs, Kimberly Nance, and Charissa (Chris) Womack; ten grandchildren: Louis Stubbs, III, Mark Stubbs, Margaret Bosenbark; John Stubbs, Michael Stubbs, Daniel Stubbs, Aaron Fenwick, Samuel Fenwick, Stephanie Womack, and Steven Womack; seven great grandchildren: Katelan Rachel Stubbs, Michael Longoria, Khloe Renea Stubbs, Jackson Roy Stubbs, Brittany Bosenbark, Jackson Bosenbark, and Caitlyn Grace Bosenbark; an uncle Nolan Rachel, a nephew James Talbert Rachel, a great nephew Carson Rachel, a great niece Payton Rachel, and numerous cousins.
