Harold E. Tomme ``Sonny'' III
(1942 - 2009)

Harold E. ``Sonny'' Tomme III, 66, a quality control supervisor, of Fort Worth, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Burleson Church of Christ. Interment: Caddo Cemetery. Vistitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.

Memorials: Donations may be made to Christ's Haven For Children, Box 467 Keller, Texas 76244.

Sonny was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Fort Worth to Harold Ernest Jr. and Frances Ione Rhea Tomme. Sonny graduated from Paschal High School in 1960 and in 1997 he graduated from Abilene Christian University. He married Ann Hendrix on Feb. 11, 1967, in Paris, Texas. Sonny proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of ASQM, American Society of Quality Management. Sonny had served professionally as ``Santa Claus'' since 1986. He was also very involved and umpired along with serving as regional director of Pony Baseball for many years. Sonny loved his church and was very involved at both Westberry Church of Christ and Burleson Church of Christ. Sonny was also a longtime volunteer blood donor to the Carter Blood Center for which he almost reached the five-gallon mark in donations. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors: Wife, Ann Tomme of Fort Worth; daughter, Julie Castellano and husband, Ray, of Benbrook; sons, Eric Tomme and wife, Christen, of Fort Worth, Andy Tomme and wife, Nicole, of Fort Worth, Matthew Tomme and wife, Melissa, of Fort Worth; brother, Doug Tomme and wife, Judy, of Fort Worth; sister, Karen Overton and husband, John, of Willow Park; grandchildren, Alex and Audrey Tomme, Hannah, Avery, Ethan and Drew Tomme, and Marissa, Kailey and Andi Castellano; one foster grandchild; and numerous extended family and friends.
