Mr. Harold Raymond Smith
Harold “Hal” Raymond Smith at the age of 80 was passed peacefully by the Angels into the hands of our Lord on June 18, 2010.
Devoted husband of late Dorothy Hilborn Smith of 43 years and Jacqueline Tortorich Smith of 6 years. Loving father of Deborah S. Jobert (Frank), Pamela S. Young (Bill), Lance J. Smith (Kim) and Kelly S. McGehee (Kerry). He was the loving grandfather of Billy F. Young, Michelle M. Eaton, Ryan F. Jobert, Brittany E. Young, Megan A. Jobert, Lauren E. McGehee, Alexander J. McGehee, Cory M. McGehee and Chance J. Smith. Loving great grandfather of Malison L. Young, Ayden D. Knecht and Sara Young. Son of the late Carlean S. Whigham and Henry L. Smith and brother of the late Donald A. Smith. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a native of Laurel, MS a resident of New Orleans and lived in Lacombe, LA for the past 10 years. He honored his country as a Veteran of the Louisiana Army National Guard. After many years, he retired as a devoted highly successful Chevrolet salesman. He loved spending time with his family sharing his favorite hobbies and his trips to the Florida beaches. His passions included Saints games, fishing, boating and photography. His love and presence will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 1:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie. Visitation from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
