Richmond, Harold Wayne M.D.

83 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away November 9, 2008.

He was born in Oakdale, LA. After graduating from L.S.U. Medical School in New Orleans in 1948, Harold entered the United States Navy in 1950, honorably serving his country during the Korean War.

Harold practiced medicine for 50 years. He was a pioneer in the field of occupational, environmental and preventative medicine and was honored for his work connecting smoking to heart disease. From 1960-1987, Harold was the Medical Director for Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus, IN, serving their medical needs in the domestic and international fields. In 1987, he moved to Phoenix and joined St Luke's Hospital to direct their Executive Health Programs.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Frances; son, Mark Richmond of California; sister, Elisabeth McKinney of Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family services were held privately.
