Graveside services for Harry Huthnance will be held 11:30, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Greenwood Memorial Park with Rev. Dan O'Connor officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. -- 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at John Kramer & Son, with a Christian wake service following immediately thereafter.

Mr. Huthnance, 95, of Alexandria, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012. He was born on May 22, 1917 in Glenmora, LA and attended school at the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, MO. He was a graduate of Glenmora High School. He was a bookkeeper for Brown Roberts Hardware and Supply Company for 20 years and was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was a co-founder and honorary member of the Alexandria Association of the Deaf and a member of the Louisiana Association of the Deaf. He served as treasurer for the Alexandria Association of the Deaf for over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Deshautel Huthnance of Echo, LA; one son, Ronny Earl Huthnance; his parents, Earl Huthnance of Winn Parish and Denie Thompson Huthnance of Rosefield; his brother, Thompson Huthnance of Alexandria; and sister, Verone Aaron of Lake Charles.

He is survived by one son, Alfred Huthnance and his wife, Annie, of Alexandria; one daughter, Judith Huthnance Rozier and her husband, John IV, of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Kate Fite and her husband, Ryan, of Austin, TX, John Rozier and his wife, Jessica, of Orlando, FL, Anna Rozier of Baton Rouge, Clay Henderson and his wife, Sheila, of Cloutierville, Christopher Mudge and his wife, Kelly, of Fairfield, TX, Casey Barnes and her husband, Paul, Of Alexandria, and Kelli Panepinto and her husband, Brandon, of Oakland, CA; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to the American Alzheimer Association, 3717 Government St, Suite 7, Alexandria, LA 71302, or to the Gideon International Association, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
