Harry Kerr

Services for Harry Kerr, 89, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Dr. Jimmy Tinkle officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Kerr was born December 4, 1918, in Huntsville, Texas, the son of the late Myrtle (Largent) and Harry M. Kerr. He passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008, at his residence.

Mr. Kerr was the owner and operator of Kerr's Sheet Metal for more than 50 years. He served with the United States Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge, No. 669, A.F. & A.M. Mr. Kerr was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen Kerr of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Jimmy Gangstad of Lufkin and Sara and Bill Campbell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; stepson and wife, Jim and Brenda Milstead of Carthage; stepdaughter and husband, Suzie and David Mayes of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Judd Gangstad, Kristi Gangstad, Ashley Campbell and Robert Campbell; great-granddaughter, Jessica Gangstad; brother, Bill Kerr of Carrizozo, New Mexico; sister, Beth Wallace of Tyler; mother-in-law, Lottie Sullivan of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Johnny Sullivan of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Kerr was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Belle Watson.
