Harvard T. LaGrone
Funeral services for Mr. Harvard T. LaGrone of Deadwood, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28., at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve F. Vaughn and the Rev. Charles Hall officiating.
Burial was held at the Deadwood Cemetery.
Mr. LaGrone, 71, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Panola General Hospital.
Born July 21, 1916 in Deadwood Community, he was the son of Walter D. and Maggie Alexander LaGrone. Mr. LaGrone was a farmer and had been employed as a millwright for Riley-Beaird in Shreveport until his retirement. He was a member of the New Shady Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth LaGrone, who died in 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Spradley LaGrone of Deadwood; two sons, Garth LaGrone of Deadwood, Lynn LaGrone of Deadwood; three sisters, Lillian LaGrone of Panola, Earlene Johnson of Riverhill Community, Gladys Brazzil of Carthage; five grandchildren, Marlene LaGrone of Shreveport, Kevin LaGrone of Beaumont, Rene Rambin of Springhill, La., Lynnette LaGrone of Deadwood, Angie Conatser of Shreveport; and three great-grandchildren, Jody LaGrone of Beaumont, Brandon Rambin of Springhill, La., and Derrick Conatser of Shreveport.
Pallbearers were: Paul McMillin, Spurline Powell, Jimmy LaGrone, Danny Johnson, Robbie LaGrone, and Sherman Spradley.
