Harvey Bruit
WILDSVILLE, La. -- Services for Harvey Bruit, 80, of Wildsville, who died Friday, June 4, 2004, will be at 2 p.m. today at Evangeline Baptist Church in Wildsville with the Rev. Gary Wagoner officiating.
Burial will follow at Evangeline Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Mr. Bruit was a member of Evangeline Baptist Church. He retired for International Paper Company after 26 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Cupit and Harvey Bruit Sr., and his grandson, Derrick Bruit.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Irene Tarver Bruit of Wildsville; two sons, Rusty Bruit and Ronnie and his wife Mary Bruit, all of Wildsville; one daughter, Wanda Sue Vanier of Vidalia; three grandsons, Tim and his wife Sandy Vanier, Dwight and his wife Stacie Vanier and Ron and his wife Katie Bruit; one granddaughter, Amy Bruit; three great-granddaughters, Hayley Vanier, Brianna Vanier and Faith Lowe; and one great-grandson, Derek Vanier.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Jernigan, Bobby Emerick, David Wade, Woody Smith, Bennie Tarver, Paul Riggs, Donnie Burley and Jimmy Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Jernigan, David Riggs, Ervin White, Ike Robertson, Floyd Middleton, Les McCartney and David Shirley.
