WINNFIELD -- Funeral services for Harvey Jones Thornton, 85, of Winnfield, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Southern Funeral Home here.
The Rev. Mears will officiate with burial at Zion Hill Cemetery.
A retired railway employe, Mr. Thornton died Tuesday at Willis Knighton Memorial Hospital in Shreveport after a brief illness.
Survivors include two sons, Jesse Thornton of Monroe and Jack Thornton of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mrs. Lydia T. Bryan of Blanchard, Mrs. Geneva T. Perdue of Huttig, Ark. and Mrs. Mildred T. Prillaman of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Lona Herring of Columbia and Miss Elva Thornton of Winnfield; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
