Hattie Opal Medlin

GILMER -- Services for Hattie Opal Medlin, 75, of East Mountain, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2005, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with Brother Don Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at East Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Medlin passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005, in a Longview nursing facility.

Born July 24, 1930, to Norris and Inez Metcalf, in Winona, Texas, Mrs. Medlin was a homemaker and attended East Mountain Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.C. Medlin of East Mountain; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Tevebaugh of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, James Ray and Kerrie Medlin of East Mountain; 2 brothers, Odell Green of Trinadad, Texas, and Charles Metcalf of Winona, Texas; one sister, Mary Nell Minyard of Winona, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Craig Tevebaugh of Decatur, Texas, Greg Tevebaugh of Saginaw, Texas, Lance Medlin of Oklahoma, and Summer Medlin of East Mountain; 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lauryn, and Leila; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, D.T. Odom, C.R. Green, and Buddy Metcalf; and 1 sister, Bessie Westberry.

Pallbearers will be Craig Tevebaugh, Greg Tevebaugh, Lance Medlin, Nicki Minyard, Ricky Fischer, and Danny Medlin.

The family will receive family and friends at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer on Friday, August 26, 2005, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
