Mrs. Hattie Parker services held at Court St. church
Mrs. Hattie W. Parker, 74, of 505 Railroad St., died unexpectedly at her home Saturday afternoon.
A native of Waynesboro, she had lived in Hattiesburg for the past 40 years. She was a member of Court Street Methodist Church and was active in the WSCS, the Belle Bennett Sunday School class and the Eastern Star.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Court Street Church with Rev. O. S. Lewis officiating. Burial was in Waynesboro Cemetery. Hulett Funeral Home was in charge.
Pallbearers were James Rodger, Homer A. Hall, Selby Bowling, James Tharp, Joe McElhaney and Sam Walker. Members of the Men's Bible Class of the church were honorary pallbearers.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Walter Blair of Quitman, Mrs. Ben Busby of Artesia and Mrs. Rosier Neely of Waynesboro; three brothers, William Walker, John J. Walker and J. C. Walker, all of Hattiesburg; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Dr. Willis Walker and Dr. Prentice Walker of Hattiesburg.
