Hazel L. Hayter

Fort Bragg resident Hazel L. Hayter, age 81, died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at her home, following a long illness.

She was born, raised and educated in Riverton, La., where she spent her early adult life. Moving to California in 1952, she made her home in Fort Bragg, where she worked as a waitress at the old Carlson's Fountain on Main Street, then at the Windsor Hotel, and lastly at the Wharf Restaurant in Noyo Harbor.

She married her husband, Leslie L. Hayter in Reno in 1955. She was a member of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Leslie Hayter of Fort Bragg; daughter Sharon Dutra of Sacramento; grandchildren, Robin and Joseph Dutra; great granddaughter, Karina Dutra and by several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services were on Monday, Nov. 3, 1997 at Chapel by The Sea in Fort Bragg. Burial followed at Rose Memorial Park.
