Hazel Etta Prescott
Hazel Etta Prescott of Carrollton, Texas, passed away November 8, 2005, at the age of 82.
She was born October 25, 1923, in Minden, LA, the daughter of James M. Prescott & Etta Nancy Upton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers J. M. Prescott, Finis Prescott; sisters Cascille Weeden, Mavis Stockbridge, and Dorothy Jean Embrey; one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Hazel is survived by her daughters Sandra Fletcher and husband Edward of Kyle, Cascille Santillo and husband Skip of Arlington; son Leon Joiner and wife Liz of Victoria; daughter Hazel “Crickett” Henson and husband Ed of Farmers Branch; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Joe Embrey of Hondo; sister-in-law Mary Emma Mathews of Hondo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, crocheting and reading.
Although she was afflicted with Alzheimer's in her last years, shee was still able to enjoy simple things and was a much loved resident of Elm Fork Nursing Home in Carrollton.
The Graveside Service were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, where she was laid to rest near all her family who have gone on before her, in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section The casketcarriers were Chris Henson, Robert Henson, Chris Joiner, David Warren, Douglas Warren, E. W. Fletcher, Sr.
