Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Hood Sutton, age 101, of Ruston will be held at 1:00 P.M Friday December 7, 2007 at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Lynn Hawkins and Rev. Dale Oden under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Mrs. Sutton was born January 26, 1906 and passed away December 5, 2007 following a brief illness.Mrs. Sutton taught schools in Lincoln, Union, and Ouachita Parishes for many years, and retired from teaching at Calhoun Elementary. Mrs. Sutton was a member of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Orren Sutton and daughter, Betty Lauretta Griffin Sutton Tibbit.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by grandsons: Robert A. Tibbit of Ruston, and Aaron M. Tibbit of Monroe; granddaughter: Hazel Tibbit Neathery of Monroe; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
Pallbearers will be Keith Hall, Murray Hall, Danny Tatum, Tommy Adkins, Jerry Lovett, and Wayne Houck. Honorary Pallbearer will be Oscar Pace.
Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M to 12:00 Noon Thursday December 7, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
