BROWN
ANAHUAC -- Services for Hazel Moor Brown, a former Chambers County Chief Sheriff's Deputy, were held Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Anahuac with the Rev. Eugene Steger officiating.
Mrs. Brown, 74, a longtime resident of Anahuac, died Tuesday in a Houston hospital.
A native of Hankamer, Mrs. Brown served as chief deputy for former Sheriff Louis Otter more than 20 years, according to current Sheriff Chuck Morris.
She retired from office in the mid 1970s.
Mrs. Brown was a member of First United Methodist Church of Anahuac.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred O. Harmon and Gladys M. Hankamer; and a brother, Euell C. Moor, all of Hankamer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial was at Abshier Cemetery in Hankamer.
Pallbearers were A.J. Harmon Jr., Billy Harmon, Bert Harbour, Gordon Bilbruck, David, Wayne and Lester Hankamer and Halley Ray Moore.
Arrangements were under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
