Mrs. Mecom Rites Set

WISNER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Mecom, 69, of Richardson, Tex. and formerly of Wisner, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church here.

She was a resident of Ruston for a number of years before moving to Richardson.

Burial will be in Holly Grove Cemetery near Wisner under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Mrs. Mecom died Monday at Willis-Knight Hospital in Shreveport after a brief illness. She was a longtime resident of Wisner and a teacher for the Independent School District of Richardson, Tex.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Nettie Oden of Shreveport; two sons, Dr. John Mecom of Richardson, Tex. and William Mecom of Slidell; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Gilchist [sic Gilchrist] of Atlanta., Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Yates of Dallas, Tex.; Mrs. Janie Hogan of Shreveport and Mrs. Nettie Kelly of Shreveport and six grandchildren.
