Helen Ball Lee, 100, died Saturday, December 1, 2001, at Hospice Ministries. Visitation is 12 noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Formerly of 450 Dunbar Street, Mrs. Lee spent most of her life in Jackson. She graduated from Central High School and attended Millsaps College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

For some years she lived in Washington, D.D., while her husband was on the staff of the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives in charge of claims for 19 years. Mr. Lee died in 1965.

Mrs. Lee was a member of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church, Bessie Shands Bible Class, the Amity Luncheon Club, the Wednesday Bridge Luncheon Club, Eastern Star, Gavel Club and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include: granddaughter (whom she reared), Helen Lee Sandifer of Jackson; great-grandson, Joey Case of Pearl; great-granddaughters, Stephanie Shaw of Jackson and Mary Amanda Dorison of Cooper City, Fla.; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and a nephew.
