DUNN

Helen Bishop Dunn, 84-a long-time resident of Mobile, died on Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Mobile.

She was born in Macon, GA on August 18, 1925 to Thomas and Helen Tarpley Bishop. She became the beloved stepdaughter of A. O. Roberson and the family moved to Scott, MS in the 1930's. She married Otis S. Dunn in 1944 and they moved to Mobile in 1955. She worked for many years in the medical records department of the Mobile Infirmary, and then as office manager for Drs. Henry Gwinn and Charles Walsh. She was an active member of Springhill Baptist Church for many years and held several volunteer roles at the Children & Women's Hospital.

She was preceded in death earlier this year by her husband, Otis.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by her daughter, Robbie Lynn (Sonny) Irvine of Mobile, her son, Chuck (Edie) Dunn of New Orleans and brother, Thomas R. (Margaret) Roberson of Memphis; grandchildren Virginia (Ned) Babb of Knoxville, TN, Helen Irvine (Hugh) Milteer of Birmingham, AL, Sallie Irvine (Nick) Merchant of Mobile and Roberta Murphy Dunn of New Orleans; great-grandchildren Will, Helen and Elizabeth Babb of Knoxville, TN, Tucker, Clarke and Beverley Milteer of Birmingham and Charlie, Mary Burton and Virginia Merchant of Mobile.

Visitation will be at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Springhill Baptist Church Foundation, 2 S. McGregor Avenue, Mobile, AL 36608 or the Children & Women's Hospital Volunteers, 17099 Center Street, Mobile, AL, 36604.
