Helen Byrd Hinton
Helen Byrd Hinton, 85, a longtime resident of Gloster, died March 2, 2003, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville.
Visitation is noon Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, until services there at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles Nash will officiate. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery.
Mrs. Hinton was born Oct. 22, 1917. She was the daughter of Wallace C. Byrd and Kate B. Crum.
She was a member of Union Methodist Church near Gloster.
Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Hal Hinton of Gloster; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia and Virgil Ferguson of Gloster, and Kathy Meyer of Lafayette, La.; three grandsons and their wives, Hal and Terry Ferguson, Wallace and Lisa Ferguson, and Emmett Meyer III and Kim Meyer; two granddaughters, Roxiann Ferguson, and Stephaine Navarro and her husband Armando; one sister, Betty Voorhies of Baton Rouge, La.; nine great-grandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
