Helen Yerger May

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Yerger May, age 83, of Tallulah, were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 8, in the Tallulah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lauren Moore and James Richter officiating. Burial followed in the Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Horne of Tallulah.

Mrs. May died Sunday, June 4, in the University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. after a brief illness.

She was a native and life-long resident of Tallulah. Mrs. May was a retired kindergarten and day-care center owner. She was a member of the Tallulah Presbyterian Church, a Church Elder and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Tallulah Home Gardeners and the Tallulah Book Club.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Kay Pringle of Biloxi, Miss., one sister, Mrs. Jessie Yerger Kirkwood of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; two nieces: Carolyn Kirkwood of Santa Ana, Cal., and Linda Kirkwood-Smith of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; one nephew, Thomas Wade Kirkwood, III of Littleton, Col.; four grandnieces: Courtney Smith, Lindsay Lucile Smith, Katie Kirkwood and Stefanie Kirkwood: one grandnephew, Andrew Smith.

Pallbearers were Dr. Edward Eiland, Calvin Adams, John Rogan, Tommy Bishop, Gene Cox, and Fred Wyly.
