REV. HENRY WALKER

The Reverend Henry D. Walker, 74, a native of Harrison County and a life-long resident, expired at the Memorial Hospital Thursday at 12:45 p.m. A retired Baptist minister and one of the founders of the East Howard Baptist Church, Biloxi, he resided at 4827 29th St., Gulfport. He had been pastor of a number of churches in south Alabama and Jackson and Harrison Counties.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Malenda [sic Malanda] Taylor Walker; five sons, Rev. Henry C., San Francisco, Calif., Ray S., Huntsville, Ala., Rev. Ralph V., Pascagoula, Preston L., Cutoff, La., and Oliver D., Ocean Springs; two daughters, Mesdames Winona Bryant and Dorris Toulin, both of Gulfport; 32 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The body will be at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Sunday from 2 p.m. to noon Monday. His remains will then be taken to the Gulfport Heights Baptist Church where funeral services will be held 2 o'clock in the afternoon Monday. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
