Henry M. Gronskei

PARK RAPIDS -- Henry M. Gronskei, age 69, of Park Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, in Fargo, N.D. Henry was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Norcross, Minn., to Knute and Ruby (Harris) Gronskei.

He spent his early years in Wheaton, Minn., and from 1953 to 1956, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He married Audrey Bladio in 1956. They were married for 26 years before divorcing. He married Kathleen Washburn on Nov. 17, 1990. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid race fan. He loved joking around, playing Scrabble and spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He was always there for his family and children. His wisdom was always there for his family and children. His wisdom was always of great help to his family and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Kelly Gronskei, of Pine River, Shelly Yeats (Randy), of Walker, Chris Gronskei (Lorene), of Ham Lake, Clay Gronskei, of Pierz, Wendy Schrupp (Raymond), of Pine River, Chad Rolen, of Park Rapids, and Shantay Washburn, of Nevis; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry, of Arizona, Loney, of South Dakota, Jimmy, of Ohio, Greg, of Arizona, Brad, of Anoka, and Steve, of Arizona; sisters, Joann Kennedy, of Arizona, Kathy Nelson, of Arizona, Sandra Blazer, of Coon Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rodney; and grandson, Brandon.

Services will be noon on Saturday, Nov. 6, at First Lutheran Church in Pine River with Pastor John Twiton officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home of Pine River.
