HENRY FREEMAN SR.
Henry Rex Freeman Sr., 71, of St. Amant, La., died Oct. 29, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
Visitation is 1 p.m. today at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster until services there at 2, with the Rev. Ron Boysel and the Rev. Kevin Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Memorial Cemetery near Gloster.
Mr. Freeman was born June 24, 1938, in Amite County, to John Henry and Lizzie Ena Bradshaw Freeman.
He was a retired truck driver who loved baseball, football and playing dominoes. He was a member of Glading Baptist Church in Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen D. Freeman; two sisters, Maugarette Freeman and Edith Hayes; and a brother, Ottis Freeman.
Survivors include his wife, Marion Dawson Freeman of St. Amant; a son, Henry R. ``Hank'' Freeman Jr. of St. Amant; a daughter, C. Janeen Duhe and husband Troy of St. Amant; two grandchildren, Casey and Blake Rushing of St. Amant; a stepgrandson, Blake Duhe of St. Amant; two brothers, J.C. Freeman and wife Jewel of Magnolia and John Freeman of Adona, Ark.; four sisters, Myrtle Jackson of Brookhaven, Bonell Roberts of Mississippi, and Vera Zeigler and Dee Zeigler and husband J.A., all of Magnolia; a host of nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Danny Herbst of Panama, Iowa, and Elroy Johnston of North Dakota.
Pallbearers are Casey Rushing, Blake Rushing, Heath Thomas, Ross Thomas, Bruce Collier, Andy Freeman and Randy Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Whittington, Sammie Whittington, D.D. Dawson and Kevin Dawson.
