Speer Funeral Held On Monday

Bearden, March 8 -- (Special) -- Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Tinsman, Monday March 6, for Henry Sampson Speer, aged 75, who died Sunday. Mr. Speer had been a resident of Tinsman for many years. He was a member of the Tinsman Baptist Church and also served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, the former Hattie Byrd, 2 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Payne and Mrs. Mattie McDonald, both of Tinsman, one brother, J. D. Speer of Bearden, one son, Carl D. [sic B.] Speer of the home, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Rev. John Eaton, pastor of the Baptist Church, Tinsman, conducted the funeral assisted by Rev. A. P. Elaf of Bearden and Charles A. Maule of Hampton. Burial was near Tinsman with Benton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
