Fox, Henry V.

A resident of Baton Rouge and a retired maintenance manager with The State-Times and The Advocate newspapers, he passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008. He was 92. Henry was born in Crowville on Nov. 3, 1915. He attended Louisiana Tech University on a football scholarship. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II aboard the USS Drexler, which was later sunk by a kamikaze attack. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was considered by all who knew him to be a ``jack of all trades'' and never hesitated to help anyone in need. He was a quiet man and a wonderful listener who only spoke when he had something important to say or was spoken to.

Visiting will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, March 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting will resume at the funeral home chapel on Monday from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon. Burial to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Johnson Fox.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Lafleur and husband Pete; son, Raymond Fox and wife Brenda; four grandchildren, Lisa Firmin and husband Brian, Trudy DeLatte and husband Cory, Scott Landry and wife Darci, and Doug Landry and wife Angela; and four great-grandchildren, Raelynn Harrison, Breanna Harrison, Jordyn DeLatte and Blakeli Landry.

He was a member of Park Forest Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Scott Landry, Doug Landry, Brian Firmin, Cory DeLatte and Jim Johnson.
