Herbert Coyt Emmons

LAKE -- Mr. Herbert Coyt Emmons, age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Forest with burial in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Leon Everett and the Rev. Larry Duncan officiated.

Mr. Emmons had been a long time resident of Fredericksburg, Texas before moving back home in April 2004 to be with his family in the Goodhope Community. He was retired from the Merchant Marines. Mr. Emmons was a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Emmons; his parents, Oliver ``Tad'' and Eula Emmons; brothers, Clark Emmons and Birden Emmons; sister, Retha Williamson; and one stepson, Weston John Luckenbach, Jr. Survivors include: three step children, Jay Arthur Luckenbach, Jerry Max Luckenbach and Jane Perry all of Fredericksburg, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Waltman of Lake; several step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were David Williamson, Sollie Williamson, Randy Emmons, Phil Waltman, Larry Waltman, Ricky Waltman and Billy Waltman. Honorary pallbearer was Johnny Emmons.
