Herbert Dale McClane
Herbert Dale McClane, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church, 3101 McNeil, Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will follow in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Dale was born May 8, 1934, in Wichita Falls to Thorald Herbert McClane and Delfia Aleta (Carr) McClane Choice. He attended Reagan Junior High, Wichita Falls High School, and Midwestern State University. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Yeatts, on May 26, 1956, and enjoyed 52 wonderful years together. He served our country in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Hood and was a lifelong member of First Assembly of God Church. He retired from Southwestern Bell -- ATT in 1984 after 32 years. He and his wife owned and operated The Ember Shop from 1971-2001, and he also owned and operated D&D Tractor Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved Possum Kingdom Lake. He also raised cattle as a hobby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann; his sons and their wives, Johnny and Ranee McClane, Brian and Amy McClane; grandchildren, Sarah, Megan, Brianna, Tony and Danny McClane, Shantel McCoy, Christopher and Kyle Turpin; stepfather, Morris Choice; sister, Gail Simpson; great-grandchildren, Caleb McClane, Brylan, Brett, and Taylor McCoy; brothers, Richard and Keith McClane; and sister, Keron Asma.
Mr. McClane is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Northpointe Assembly of God in Plano, Texas.
