Herbert U. McGinty
Herbert U. McGinty, age 35 years, died at the St. Francis Sanitarium in Monroe
Sunday, January 22, at 9 o'clock. He was ill only about five days, his death
being caused by pneumonia. Funeral services were held by Rev. Hastings,
pastor of the First Baptist Church, of Monroe. The remains were shipped to
Shreveport and then to Montgomery, La. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery
Monday afternoon, Rev. Sherman of Haynesville and the Masons having charge
of the ceremonies.
Mr. McGinty was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. McGinty, of Colfax. He was born
and reared near Mt. Zion settlement in Ward Five, and was married to Mrs.
Blanche Neal, sister of Mrs. F. L. Shaw, of Winnfield. He has a host of
friends in Winnfield and surrounding communities who mourn his death.
Mr. McGinty is survived by his wife and young adopted son, of Monroe; parents,
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. McGinty, Colfax; and five brothers, Edward McGinty,
Montgomery, Guy, Eben, and Roger McGinty, Shreveport; and Rubin McGinty,
Oklahoma, City.
