SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Hermine Henneke Crain, 79, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2005 at North Highlands United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Sandra S. Huber, pastor and Rev. Tom Dungan, associate pastor. Interment will follow in Forest Park West.
The family invites and will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.
Hermine was born November 17, 1925 in Arneckeville, TX and passed away Monday, February 28, 2005. She was a member of North Highlands United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Hermine was a member of the Young at Heart, UMW and enjoyed working with the Ramp Ministry at her church. She was an avid gardener and cook and liked traveling.
Her husband, James Crain, and several brothers and a sister preceded her in death. Survivors are her son, Kenneth Crain and wife, Lynette of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Daphne Strickland and husband, Chuck of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Amanda Stout and husband, Tadd of Baton Rouge, LA, Ben Strickland and Adam, K'Lyn and Lacey Crain all of Shreveport, LA; sister, Lorene Kramer of Farmington, NM; brothers, Ben Henneke of Bastrop, TX and Roland Henneke of Hallettsville, TX; special friends, Bob and Cille Dykes of Shreveport, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jim Roberts, Bob Ferrier, Keith Jackson, Joe Langdon, Wayne Gipson, Cliff Roberts and grandsons, Ben and Adam. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Harry Martin, Charles Wilbanks, Darwin Crain and John Barthold.
Memorials may be to North Highlands United Methodist Church.
The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Joyce Feagin, Dr. Ajaya Tummala and the nurses and staff at Willis-Knighton Cancer Center.
